ARTIST STATEMENT

Immigrants share a cleaved sense of identity, the duality of which remains anchored in the culture from whence they came, no matter how distant in time or geography. It’s an innate quality to remember origin, overtones of which indirectly shape ideas and values subconsciously. Strange how you can take the girl out of Africa, but you can’t take Africa out of the girl.
