The life we aspire to build for ourselves is often also a cage of our own making; to make sense out of a seemingly disordered and chaotic world, we rely on relationships to realize a sense of community, identity, belonging. But what begins in earnest can sometimes take on a life of its own – a life not necessarily envisioned by our internal selves. The weight and circumstance of life, can leave the spirit feeling trapped and burdened. We long to fly away, but are held fast by responsibilities and obligations.
