Coastal climates can produce long stretches of gray, rainy days, affecting one’s frame of mind and interest in regular activity. Daily weather patterns certainly suggest a tempestuous and stormy disposition, yet vivid color bursts in the landscape reveal a spirit unwilling to yield to the enveloping gloom.
